Electronic Waste Recycling Fee
Important Note: As of January 1, 2005, ZipZoomfly is required by the State of California to collect an Electronic Waste Recycling Fee for sale of certain new or refurbished televisions, computer monitors, laptop computers, and other devices. This fee is administered by the Electronic Waste Recycling Fee Section of the Board of Equalization. In other words, consumers who have to pay sales or use tax will have to pay the fee. Sales to schools, government agencies and non profit organizations will not be exempt. The fee, which is not taxable, is determined by the screen size, measure diagonally. If the monitor is more than 4 inches but less than 15 inches, the fee is $8.00. If the monitor is between 15 inches (inclusive) and 35 inches, the fee is $16.00. If the monitor is more than 35 inches, the fee is $25.00.
